Tanya Vora
UX Strategist
Design Researcher
I'm an Akron native, born and raised in Ohio. I am the daughter of two immigrant parents from Gujarat, India. I attribute my open-mindedness and resilience to the values they have instilled in me.
I have spent most of my career empathizing with users through research studies. I have found that I enjoy learning about the differences in the ways we all think and behave, that ultimately guide the experiences we interact with within society.
In recent years I have come to appreciate the strategic side of design. Solving problems is less about what the design team thinks should happen, and more so what can be done to support the goals of business, tech, and user needs. Our work is the product of collaboration and mutual respect.
I believe as design practitioners, we have the ability to utilize our skillsets to help build communities that meet the needs of all. Empathy is a powerful tool, and contagious once taught well. I hope to use what I have learned during my career to give back to the communities that gave so much to me.
